Two panels will discuss the findings of a new report: Towards a Transatlantic Green New Deal: Tackling the Climate and Economic Crisis, prepared by the Worldwatch Institute for the Heinrich Böll Foundation.

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, 1779 Massachusetts Ave., NW, Washington, DC Jürgen Trittin, Former German Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, will discuss issues of non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament from a European and German perspective. He will explore how rules and controls can be strengthened to curtail further proliferation by the 2010 NPT Review Conference, the role of Europe and Germany in approaching disarmament, and in particular, the future of the U.S. nuclear arsenal stationed in Germany.
