Milena is Assistant to the Executive Director and Office Manager since February 2010. Her responsibilities include all PR work of the HBF Washington, DC office, including the website and the monthly newsletter. She maintains the efficient operation of the office and provides support to the Executive Director. Milena also oversees the intern hiring process and assists in project management and event coordination.
Milena holds an MA in Political Science, German and Media Science from the University of Trier, Germany, and spent a year at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, USA as an exchange student and another six months as visiting researcher. She wrote her Master’s thesis on terrorism discourses in the American media and American public opinion and graduated in November 2009. At the University of Trier, Milena worked as a research assistant in the DFG-sponsored research project “Armut und Fremdheit” in the German Department and in the research project “German Foreign Policy” in the Department of International Relations.
