Janine Korduan

Janine Korduan holds a BA in Environmental Science and Technology from the Technical University (TU) of Berlin and is currently working on her master’s thesis, which analyses the political barriers to establishing a circular economy of nutrients derived from sanitation systems in Germany.

For the last 15 years she has worked with various NGOs, engineering companies, student groups, and projects in Berlin, Belgium and Ethiopia; for example Hans Verolme (Climate Advisers Network), ttz Bremerhaven, Kollektiv für angepasste Technik and Friends of the Earth. She has successfully implemented many projects on climate change and climate policy, water and nutrient resources, low-tech design, and circular economy. She teaches students in summer schools at the TU Berlin, regularly applies for grants from various foundations for her projects (most recently from the German Postcodelotterie) and has co-founded an open repair workshop and the "She*Fix Tutorials" YouTube channel.
