Philipp Antony
Head of Education & Science Division

Since 2013 Philipp Antony is head of the Department for Science and Education of the Heinrich Böll Foundation. His work focuses on digital education, infrastructure investments, federalism, lifelong learning, inclusion, open educational resources (OER) and questions of participation and democracy building in schools. In the area of Higher Education, his focus is on funding policies, academic freedom, governance and programs like the German Excellence Initiative.

Previous professional positions include the Institute for Research Information and Quality Assurance (iFQ), the German Council of Science and Humanities (WR) in Cologne, the Dahlem Humanities Center (DHC), and Freie Universität Berlin. He studied in Berlin and Lyon and holds a degree in Studies of France (Diplom) with majors in French philology, economics, law and political science.
